The Earl of Mar Championship Course

Welcome to the prestigious Earl of Mar Scottish championship golf course and resort. Designed by golf architect Dave Thomas to bring a challenging, exciting new course to Scotland, whilst maintaining the charm of Mar Hall’s aged old Estate.

Thomas was one of Britain's leading golfers during the 1950s and 1960s and latterly a renowned golf course architect. Now you can enjoy his creation. A five-star golfing experience located within 240 acres of aged parkland on the south bank of the River Clyde.

The course sweeps through the Scottish countryside past 250-year-old chestnut and beech trees, adding history and challenge. Located just ten minutes from Glasgow Airport, the Earl of Mar course offers golf memberships and residential golf as well being the perfect place to bunker down for both luxury golf holidays and corporate golf days in Scotland.

Kept in top condition, the par-70 course brings together old with stunning views of the River Clyde and Old Kilpatrick Hills, nestled in the shadows of the spectacular Erskine Bridge. Designed and laid out in 2010, you’ll play within generously proportioned fairways, large gently contoured USGA-Spec greens, and strategically-placed bunkers for a fun, yet challenging round.

The course is intentionally designed as two loops of 9, each of which returns to the front of the Il Posto Clubhouse, where you can enjoy relaxed dining with delicious food and superb views. Contact us to book a bespoke golf trip or enquire here regarding membership.
