Glengoyne Distillery

While Glengoyne Distillery is on Glasgow’s doorstep, its snug position at the foot of the Campsie Hills gives it a picturesque Highland charm. Glengoyne is unique in producing Highland single malt whisky that is matured in the Lowlands and distilled more slowly than any other Scotch whisky, resulting in exceptional smoothness and depth of flavour.

The distillery offers multiple tours and experiences, including an in-depth 210 minute Spirit of Glengoyne experience which allows you to witness Glengoyne’s slow distillation first hand, as well as storytelling experiences and personalised tutored tastings.

You can find out more about the experiences on the Glengoyne Distillery website.

Clydeside Distillery

Located right on the River Clyde in the restored Queen’s Dock pumphouse, Clydeside is Glasgow’s first active distillery in over a century.

Using traditional methods and just three ingredients, the distillery specialises in producing whisky in a lighter, mellow Lowland style using handcrafted copper stills and time-honoured distillation methods.

Expert guides will lead you through the production process on site before you can try a few drams for yourself during the dedicated whisky tasting session. You can also create your very own bottle of cask strength Clydeside single malt with the distillery’s Whisky Creator Tour.

Discover the distillery’s full range of experiences and tours on the The Clydeside Distillery website.

Auchentoshan Distillery

Just about 10 miles from central Glasgow, Auchentoshan is known as “Glasgow's Malt Whisky.” Famed for being triple distilled, the production process results in a soft, delicate profile with strong notes of fruit and citrus—perfect for those who enjoy smoother drams.

The distillery offers multiple tours and experiences, including private VIP options, signature whisky tasting sessions and an ultimate tour which covers all aspects of the whisky’s unique triple distillation process. Experiences last anywhere between 1-2 hours providing an in-depth look into Scottish whisky production.

Deanston Distillery

Roughly a 45-minute drive north of Glasgow, Deanston is housed in a converted 18th-century cotton mill on the banks of the River Teith. The distillery specialises in drams that are light and waxy with a rich, full-bodied, juicy flavour profile.

The Deanston Drams range includes an aromatic 12 and 18 Year Whisky, a fruity and floral 15 Year Old Tequila Cask Finish and a Virgin Oak Whisky. It was also one of the first distilleries in the world to produce an organic single malt whisky.

The attraction offers several ways to explore the distillery and learn more about the heritage of their drams, including the opportunity to go on a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the Deanston’s Warehouses.

You can plan your experience over on the Deanston Distillery website.

Rosebank Distillery

After decades of silence, Rosebank reopened in 2023 and quickly earned five-star Visit Scotland status. Located on the Forth & Clyde canal, this beautifully restored Lowland distillery looks to replicate methods created by the distillery’s founding whisky makers, producing non-peated, triple distilled, Lowland Single Malt with a fruity floral style. It is also one of the few distilleries that still uses worm tub condensers to give a heavier style to its spirit.

Enjoy a tutored tasting session of single malts from Rosebank and its sister distilleries with the attraction’s exciting range of experiences, including guided tours, cocktail receptions and a unique behind-the-scenes insight into the world of the whisky maker.

Explore the distillery’s tours and experiences on the Rosebank Distillery website.
