Wedding Information
Ceremony
Mar Hall holds a Civil Wedding Licence and may offer a facility to couples who wish to be married on site. This will depend on various factors; numbers, timings and logistics etc. and can be discussed with your dedicated Event Manager. This would be conducted by a Religious Celebrant or Registrar of the Couple’s choosing. Due to the very personal nature of a wedding ceremony and varying religious beliefs, Mar Hall cannot, unfortunately,
make any recommendations.
Reception Drinks
The wedding party will have exclusive use of Morton House and
its lounge bar area.
The Wedding “Breakfast”
Morton House can accommodate a maximum of 150 guests – recommended on tables of 10 guests. This may vary depending on the number of guests seated at the top table. The Wedding Breakfast will be a set menu of one starter, one main course and one dessert, chosen by the couple, with the expert assistance, if desired, of our Executive Head Chef. All special dietary requirements will be accommodated, given the appropriate advance notice
as per our terms. We regret that a choice of
courses is not possible.
Menu Tasting
Mar Hall generally does not offer a menu tasting service. We recommend that you arrange to enjoy an evening dinner in our fine dining Cristal Restaurant. This will give you the opportunity to sample the excellent cuisine prepared and served at Mar Hall.
Our Award Winning Chef, Jim Kerr, has created fine dining menus for your wedding day; and will be happy to offer you a personal consultation to assist you in creating a very special wedding day menu for you and your guests.
Accommodation
A complimentary four poster bridal suite will be allocated for the night of your wedding at Mar Hall. Mar Hall requires the Bride and Groom to purchase 10 double bedrooms, which are available at a reduced rate of £150 (£160 for 2009). The rate includes vat only.
Breakfast is charged at £12.50 for a continental and £15.50 for a full Scottish Breakfast.
Check in/out times: Check in time for all guests is 4pm. The hotel cannot guarantee earlier check in times for any guests due to the previous night’s residents being entitled to occupy their rooms until 12noon. Housekeeping requires sufficient time to service the bedrooms to be available for the next intake of guests.
Minimum Numbers Policy
Weddings taking place on a Friday or Saturday are subject to a minimum of 90 day guests for the wedding breakfast and drinks package, and 70 for a Sunday wedding. Midweek weddings may be discussed individually.
